Course Details

Unprecedented numbers of men, women and children have been fleeing war, persecution and environmental catastophe. Many have risked death, hoping to find safety and a new life in Europe. Why is this happening? What have been the responses? Governments see this as a security issue. We believe that asylum policies are flawed. We will explore how Friends can work, collectively and locally, for justice and compassion for all those seeking refuge in Europe.
Guest speakers will include Sarah Teather, Director of Jesuit Refugee Service, and former chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Refugees and Andrew Lane, Quaker Representative at the Quaker Council for European Affairs.
